Holman Ranch is such a magical venue. It's one of the few areas in the county where you have dedicated, separate areas for all of your wedding events. The ceremony site looks out at the amazing Santa Lucia Mountain range. The Stone Terrace serves as the perfect cocktail hour spot - not to mention it's a photographers dream since the guests stay in the secluded area, and gives us fairly unlimited access to the ceremony veranda. The Rose Patio is perfect for sit-down dinners for large groups, and it shows off the amazing stone and wood architecture that is characteristic to Holman Ranch. And finally, the Carriage House for dancing! It adds the perfect amount of rustic charm for couples who want a rustic, elegant wedding theme. This is where our wonderful couple Katie and Chris chose to tie the knot!
Like many of our brides, we had met Katie a few years ago when we photographed her senior pictures, so we were thrilled when she chose us to photograph her wedding! Months of planning and learning about Katie and Chris has us so excited for this spectacular Sunday wedding. We started early with Katie, photographing some artistic details of her bridal wear - which was a perfect reflection of Katie. She found the perfect bridal boots to match her rustic wedding venue. Her bridesmaids are the funnest group of girls and had Katie's best interests at heart. A rare combo. Chris was unwilling to let Katie have all of the limelight, so he wore Captain America socks, which were pretty rad.
Before all of our weddings, we have a final consultation with our couple to go over their list of must have pictures. Katie stepped out of the office for a few minutes, which was when Chris told us his secret plan to sing a song he wrote for Katie during the reception. He was super nervous and hoped all would go well - and it did! What an amazing song he sang to his wife. A moment she will remember forever.
